Dr. Harshil Patel
Harshil is a naturalist, interested in the systematics of reptiles and amphibians. He pursued a masters’ in Biosciences from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat in 2011 and followed it to a PhD and working as an INSPIRE Fellow at the same institute. He has immensely contributed to the reptilian fauna of India, particularly that of Gujarat. He is one of the finest snake taxonomists in the country and works in close collaboration with me on major projects dealing with phylogeny and systematics of Indian squamates and amphibians.
Dr. HT Lalremsanga
HT is a professor at Mizoram University and head of the Zoology Department at the university. He has been involved in the documentation of the diversity of reptiles and amphibians of northeast India in addition to mapping their distribution and behavioural studies. He and his students have made immense contributions towards herpetofaunal documentation, especially of Mizoram. He is part of the northeast Indian reptile research undertaken by my colleagues and me.
Harshal Bhosale
Harshal is a naturalist from Satara, Maharashtra, with unwatchable field skills. He has spent years travelling across India, especially the Western Ghats and Himalayas. His efforts have yielded numerous new species of reptiles and amphibians from the Western Ghats and Arunachal Pradesh. He served as the Conservation Officer and later moved to the collection department of the Bombay Natural History Society, Mumbai and works on several biodiversity documentation projects. He currently works at a consultancy firm. We have been friends for a long time and are now collaborators and our key focus is the reptiles of Arunachal Pradesh.
Saunak Pal
Saunak is a naturalist with a keen interest in Herpetology. He has been working largely on Indian lizards and is well-known for his contribution towards agamids and Cnemaspis of Western Ghats. He currently works at the collection department of the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), Mumbai. He has extensively surveyed the Western Ghats and is focused on mapping the diversity of reptiles and amphibians of the ghats in addition to working at the collections department.
Gaurang Gowande
Gaurang is an Assistant Professor at Ferguson College, Pune and along with teaching students, he is pursuing a PhD at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is well known for his contribution to agamiad systematics and in particular for resolving the taxonomy of the garden lizard (Calotes versicolor). He has conducted fieldwork across the Indian Peninsula, the Western Ghats and Arunachal Pradesh. He played a pivotal role in planning #TheArunachalExpedition, conducting fieldwork and research work associated with the trip.
